About the job

In the position of Electrical Engineer, you will join the Technology Support Group. You will optimize Opra’s 1,8 MW gas turbine generator set on electrical protection and provide technical support to OPRA’s clients, packagers, and our field service engineers. You utilize your own extensive technical knowledge, analytical skills and assistance from expert colleagues in order to resolve technical issues on time and to enhance technical service processes. Through your innovative mind-set, you are able to translate new insights on smart grids, evolution of the interaction between TSO and DSO etc., to optimize our product for the new energy landscape. As an Electrical Engineer you are thereby the technical interface between our clients, packagers and the OPRA organization.

In this job:

  • You will optimize our product for the new energy landscape (smart grids, grid balance, automation).
  • You function as a point of contact for OPRA’s clients and field service engineers regarding technical enquiries.
  • You will assist in case of technical issues during the commissioning of OPRA’s products.
  • You will take an active role in improving the OPRA product, and making it future proof, by providing the engineering colleagues with structured field and user feedback, and insights on trends.
  • You will provide technical deliverables like markups on electrical drawings and troubleshooting procedures.
  • You provide technical solutions, and or electrical modification and follow up drawing modifications.
  • You participate in OPRA’s 24/7 support team.

Your profile

We are looking for a colleague that is hands-on, a team player, focused on what customers and internal stakeholders need, and has a thorough technical background.

Our requirements

  • A master/bachelor work and thinking level.
  • Finished education in the field of electrical engineering.
  • 5 years of experience in the field of electrical engineering.
  • Experience with electrical and/or PLC’s control systems.
  • Affinity with ICT systems.
  • Knowledge of E-plan.
  • Experience with rotating machinery or power generation and distribution
  • Important competences are: team work, customer focus, communication, problem solving, flexibility and quality and safety consciousness.
  • Fluency in English and Dutch is essential, speaking German is an advantage.

This is a fulltime (40h) position based in Hengelo, the Netherlands. If you want to relocate for this position, we offer a relocation package. If relocation is not possible, remote working combined with regular presence is feasible.

About the selection procedure

After reviewing the received applications, OPRA Turbines will contact the applicants of interest for a first selection interview. In the second selection round the candidate might be asked to prepare a presentation/pitch based on a case. Moreover, another interview will take place and a tour around our facility will be provided.
